Shannon Delahanty is a multidisciplinary artist working in Portland, OR. Her artistic practice explores everyday life to better understand notions of tradition, identity, and the preservation of relationships. She is interested in the ability of material objects to embody aspects of both public and private life and how they reflect the exchange between an individual and their community. Collections, documents, and records are at the root of her work and they serve to narrate parts of her familial history. Current projects examine text and documents specifically for their ability and inability to record-- how they serve as evidence of transient life and how one relies on their information for truth.
